Ledger Launchpad — Secure Onboarding

A friendly start for new users — setup, safety, recovery, and first transaction guidance.
Protect your seed • Start with on-device generation
Confirm every transaction on-screen • Never approve blindly
Back up to metal • Resist fire, water, and physical decay
1
Generate on device
Create a new wallet on the Ledger — do not import seeds. Device generation uses hardware entropy and keeps the seed isolated.
2
Record recovery
Write your 24-word phrase on certified backup material. Consider a metal backup plate for durability and long-term storage.
3
Set PIN & passphrase
Choose a PIN for local access and optionally enable a passphrase for hidden wallets or account separation.
4
Install apps & connect
Use Ledger Live to manage apps and accounts. Only install apps you trust; keep firmware up-to-date from official sources.
5
Verify addresses
Always verify recipient addresses on the device screen before confirming outgoing transactions.
What if my device is tampered with?
Do not use a device that shows signs of tampering. Contact official support and arrange a device replacement after securing your recovery phrase.
Can I use multiple devices with the same seed?
Yes — importing the recovery phrase on another Ledger or compatible device restores your wallet. Use care with passphrases.
Should I store my seed digitally?
No — avoid photos or cloud storage. Prefer offline physical backups, ideally metal backups for durability.
